Notes
Sections mentioned concern the establishment of local school boards, their powers, and funding; the House was concerned that there was confusion about the law's extent, and so asked the Executive on February 13, 1819, to have 1000 copies of these provisions printed for use of the local boards created by therein (Chap. XI of Acts of December 1817 Assembly). No copy known extant; as public printer, Thomas Ritchie was responsible for completing the work, so the attribution here to partnership then conducting his press. Swem makes a similar assignment, but it is possible that Ritchie subcontracted this non-standard work to the press of Samuel Shepherd & William Pollard, as he sometimes did with such items Swem duplicated this entry in his list of documents associated with the December 1819 Assembly (9147) based on voucher date; entry here corresponds to order to print this item.
