Bill presented in response to complaints voiced in Petition seeking Law requiring Surveys of Claimed Lands (1817.110) from Cabell, Lewis and Kanawha Counties; the Assembly dispersed elements of this bill into two acts passed in this session: "An act for confirming certain titles to lands," and "An act to amend an act, entitled. 'An act for surveying lands given by law to officers and soldiers on continental an state establishments,' and for other purposes" (Chaps. XVI & XXVII of Acts of December 1817 Assembly). No copy known extant; Thomas Ritchie, the public printer, was ordered on January 27, 1818, to print 250 copies of this bill for the use of the Assembly, so the attribution here to the partnership then conducting Ritchie's press.
