After chartering new banks in the preceding session, and modifying such charters during this session, the Assembly declined to act on this broadly orchestrated request. Only known copy, held in the state archives at the Library of Virginia, lacks colophon; sheet is dated December 20, 1817, in manuscript, the date it was received by the House of Delegates; additional manuscript versions were entered on December 27th; as the request was clearly a Staunton-specific issue, this item certainly issued from the Isaac Collett press, the only one then operating in Staunton, so the attribution here.
