1817.057: Act to Incorporate Subscribers to Certain Banks in District of Columbia.
Published: 1817
Full Title: An act to incorporate the subscribers to certain banks in the District of Columbia; and to prevent the circulation of the notes of unincorporated associations within the said district. Passed March 3, 1817.
Author: United States. Fourteenth Congress.
Place Issued: Alexandria
Issuing Press: Uncertain
Description: 8 pgs.; 21 cm. (8vo, printed in two columns).
Notes
Reprinting of Chap. XCIIl of Acts of Second Session of Fourteenth Congress; content matches a statute enacted by the Assembly in February 1816 concerning Virginia banks and notes. Title lacks colophon; imprint states: "Printed for the Union Bank of Alexandria." Item almost certainly printed in Alexandria, as two publishers there – Samuel Snowden and John Corse (Corse & Rounsavell) – were involved with that city's Union Bank; however, which of those two press offices (or another) issued this title is uncertain, so the indeterminacy here.
