Notes
Only known copy is held in the broadside collection of the Virginia Historical Society; text offers a poetic tribute with a detailed list of the members of this military unit. Sheet lacks colophon; both of Petersburg's newspapers provided detailed coverage of the activities of the militia unit known as the "Petersburg Volunteers," despite the stark political differences between the two journals; hence, either office could have produced this title, and almost certainly did, so the partial attribution here.
