Notes
Sixth of the numbered tracts issued by the Virginia Religious Tract Society; imprint carries caption title only, presented in style of a newspaper's banner; Wartmann placed colophon after text end [p. 22]; colophon also identified Wartmann as working at the Theological Printing Office of Presbyterian ministers George Bourne and Andrew B. Davidson, who opened the press in spring 1813 to supply imprints for the tract society they founded. Contents include: "A sailor"[1-6}, "Providence displayed" [6-13], "The Christian drummer" [16-18], "Illness and death of Mrs. Legare" [18-23]. This title was also included in the first (and only) bound set of the society's tracts (1813.081) along with several other such small imprints printed in both Staunton and Harrisonburg.
