Notes

Colophon lacks date, but states: "Star Office." The Lynchburg Star was conducted by James Graham, so the attribution here; that office closed in early 1812, so the date supplied here. The December 1811 Assembly received numerous petitions seeking a reorganization of the District Courts of Chancery system established in 1804; this petition was one of two issuing from Lynchburg (this & 1811.107) asked for a division of the Richmond district, with a new district court being established at Lynchburg; the Assembly did divide the larger Staunton district into four courts in this session, but did not create a court at Lynchburg until 1814.
