Full Title: An Act, Incorporating a Company to Establish a Turnpike Road from Fredericksburg to Swift-Run Gap in the Blue Ridge.
Author: Virginia. General Assembly.
Place Issued: Fredericksburg
Issuing Press: Timothy Green
Description: 22 pgs. 19 cm. (12mo).
Item actually contains two acts of Assembly; the one reported on the title page was enacted by the December 1809 Assembly on January 11, 1810 to create the said turnpike company; the second (published in the last three printed pages [18-21]), was enacted by the December 1810 Assembly on February 13, 1811 as "An act appropriating certain taxes due prior to the year 1790 to the establishment of the turnpike road leading from Fredericksburg to Swift Run Gap." The two acts did not resolve financing issues in building the turnpike, which were then addressed further by an amended act passed at the December 18149 Assembly.
