Notes
Signers seek law authorizing the construction of a toll bridge across the James River near Lynchburg, so impeding navigation on that vital river; despite numerous petitions from the adjacent counties opposing the bridge, the request resulted in incorporating the Lynchburg Tollbridge Company by this session of Assembly; the session also approved the construction of a second bridge at Lynch's Ferry under proprietorship of John Lynch Sr. Sheet carries colophon: "Star-Office." The Lynchburg Star was published by James Graham, so the attribution here.
