1808.020: Address of William Shelton to Freeholders of Louisa County.
Full Title: To the freeholders of Louisa county. … March 3, 1808.
Author: Shelton, William.
Place Issued: Virginia
Issuing Press: Uncertain
Description: 1 sheet [2 pgs.]; 45 cm. x 28 cm. (broadside, printed recto & verso).
A circular letter in which Shelton offered himself as a candidate for one of Louisa County's two seats in the House of Delegates for the December 1808 Assembly; he was defeated in this attempt, but was elected as a delegate for the ensuing December 1809 session. Sheet lacks colophon; likely a Richmond imprint, given Louisa's proximity to the capital; however, many in that county employed Petersburg presses, so the indeterminacy here.
