The title biography is a translation of Kotzebue's Flucht eines Ròˆmers (Flight of a Roman); that work makes up only the first 72 pages herein; remaining 208 pages are the "useful and curious articles" mentioned in the subtitle. Imprint states: " Petersburg: Printed for Ross and Douglas, 1801." Douglas conducted the Blandford Press separately from his partnership with Ross in their Petersburg bookstore, so the printer attribution here. Douglas issued other editions of this work in Baltimore in 1803 & 1806 following his removal from Petersburg.
