First English edition was published in London in 1799. Thomas advertised coming publication of this title on the final page of The Black Valley (1801.022), printed by Samuel Snowden. The Westcotts issued an identical edition of this work without naming Thomas in the imprint (1801.024); that edition was the one seen by Shaw & Shoemaker, so omitting this item from their listing; the Early American Imprints Series did not film this variant as a result.
