Notes
This original edition, identified here as the "A" variant, was reissued in September 1799 with a new title page and the addition of a two-page leaf immediately thereafter transcribing a recommendation letter from George Washington dated August 29th (1799.048); otherwise, the typography of the two variants is identical. This variant was not filmed by the Early American Imprints Series; rather the Evans number for this title (36695) links to that for the longer "B" variant (36697).
