Notes
Petition seeks removal of obstructions in the Potomac River along Alexandria's waterfront; dated at end in manuscript "Dec. 8, 1797" by a clerk of the House of Delegates, indicating date of submission. Only known copy is held in the state archives at the Library of Virginia. Sheet lacks printer credit; clearly an Alexandria imprint, but assigning a printer is speculative.
