Orders were issued (1794.021) to establish the order of rank in county militia units under requirements of an act passed by the Assembly as part of the 1792 Revisal of the Laws (1794.037). This report was signed by the members of the Board of Officers (Jonathan Clark, Henry Young, John Marshall, John Guerrant, Jun.0 and by Lieutenant-Governor James Wood, who chaired the board; list is dated September 1794; Davis was ordered to print 200 copies of the list on November 22, 1794. Only known copy held in rare-book collection at the Virginia Historical Society.
