Notes
Only known copy is held in the special collections of the Rockefeller Library at Colonial Williamsburg; item bears simple date of "May 1" at head of page; the Rockefeller Library reports that this performance occurred during the 1771 residence of the company of Lewis Hallam, Jr. (1740-1808) in Williamsburg, so the date assigned here. The American Company of Comedians advertised exclusively in the Purdie & Dixon Gazette in 1771, indicating that this also issued from their press; so the attribution here.
