Notes

Title not recorded by Swem; item is part of Revisal of the Laws, in which individual statutes included in the collection were rewritten and reorganized, as here; two sections mentioned concern issuance of scire facias writs (show cause why judicial order should not be enforced) in civil cases; statute being drafted here became Chap. 128 of the Revised Code of 1819. No copy known extant; Thomas Ritchie, the public printer, was ordered on January 1, 1819, to print 250 copies of this letter for the use of the Assembly, so the attribution here to the partnership then conducting Ritchie's press.
