Notes

No copy known extant; the House ordered 3500 copies of the new law printed on January 7, 1815, for distribution throughout the state; it was also printed in the session laws as Chap. III of Acts of October 1814 Assembly. Thomas Ritchie became printer to the Commonwealth on January 1, 1815, when the brief license granted to Deborah W. L. Pleasants expired; she had assumed the formal title on the death of her husband, Samuel Pleasants, in October, six days before this session opened; but as of January 1st, that title dell to Ritchie, printer to the Senate, with his protégé, Thomas Burling, taking on his old assignment. Still, for the last three weeks of the session, the House journals continued to be produced by the Argus Office of the Pleasants estate.
