Notes

Imprint states: "Printed by Cottom & Stewart, for William F. Gray, Fredericksburg." Gray had recently established an independent business in Fredericksburg after working for Timothy Green and Cottom & Stewart alike; his new bookstore evidently replaced Cottom & Stewart's there when that Alexandria firm contracted to its base in 1810. This title was one of three essentially identical almanacs published by Cottom & Stewart for 1811; it was their regular practice to issue a common base almanac with interchangeable title pages, targeting three distinct locales in Virginia, here for Alexandria (1810.054), for Petersburg (1810.055), and for Fredericksburg (this item); this series was the first in which the non-Alexandria editions were not produced for a Cottom & Stewart branch store, as their partnership was due to expire in 1811, and would do so.
