1809.084: Annual Message of the Governor to the Assembly (December 1809).

Published: 1809

Full Title: [Letter from the governor, John Tyler, Dec. 4, 1809].

Author: Tyler, John Sr. (1747-1813), governor.

Place Issued: Richmond

Issuing Press: Samuel Pleasants

Description: Unrecorded

No copy known extant; Swem supplied title; however, he erroneously reported that Tyler's letter was printed with accompanying documents; those enclosures numbered 13 item, and so the actual order recorded in house journal applies to the letter only, which discussed each of those items only briefly; the majority of the text concerned Tyler's views on the ongoing foreign- affairs crisis with France and Great Britain and an appeal to create a public-school system in Virginia; neither topic is found in the documents, though they were a part of the deliberations of this session.
