1803.057: Proposal for Publishing Poems by J. R Toulmin.
Published: 1803
Full Title: May 30, 1803. A proposal for publishing by subscription, Poems on Several Occasions, mostly on religious and moral subjects. By J. R. Toulmin . . .
Author: Toulmin, J. R.
Place Issued: Lexington
Issuing Press: Uncertain
Description: 1 sheet [1 pg.]; 40 cm. x 20 cm. (broadside).
Notes
This collection was proposed shortly after Toulmin published an anti-slavery slavery poem in Lexington that was evidently well received (1803.056); as no copy of that offered work is known, either by direct or indirect evidence, that collection was apparently never issued. Sheet lacks colophon; while text indicates place of publication, there were two press offices operating in Lexington in 1803 (those of Samuel Walkup and John McMullin), hence the indeterminate attribution here.
