This imprint contains a reprinting of the report on the investigation into the conduct of Read (1800.074, who had surrendered an American citizen to the custody of the British consul, who sent that man to Jamaica for trial and execution as a mutineer in the Royal Navy, and of Governor Monroe's report on the trials of the slaves who participated in Gabriel's Rebellion. No copy is known extant; Swem reported its existence from an order in the Senate journal on December 30, 1800, that Nicolson print 100 copies of these reports for the use of the Senate in their deliberations over these matters.
