Notes

No copy now known extant; was printed as a "secret law" in November 1777 during the ten-week-long Assembly session of October 1777 (October, 20 1777 to January 24, 1778); the existence of this imprint is known from an investigation recorded in the journal of the House of Delegates for this session (1778.002) when that secrecy was compromised; copies were being printed for distribution to county sheriffs, in advance of the requisition by seizure of said clothing, when a copy was taken from Purdie's printing office and circulated in the town, resulting in the concealment of those targeted goods.
